English racing bible, the Racing Post, has declared Queen Elizabeth Stakes winner Sir Delius, the best Frankel in training in the world.
The Racing Post has its own rating system for horses and Sir Delius is at 127 from his Turnbull Stakes win last year, ahead of three-time Oaks winner and Prix Arc De Trimphe runner-up Minnie Hauk, which is rated at 124.
It named the top-five Frankel progeny, which included stars from Godolphin, Coolmore and Saudi-backed Wathnan Racing, but Sir Delius was clearly on top.
“Triple Group 1 winner Sir Delius, who is based in Australia, takes top spot here – and with good reason,” Sadie Iddenden wrote for the Racing Post.
“Six starts in France showcased his ability, but he reached new heights in his four-year-old campaign, with the best of his performances coming in the Turnbull Stakes at Flemington in October, where he posted an RPR of 127.
“He came close to matching that effort when winning the Queen Elizabeth Stakes this month.
“Sir Delius is well fancied in the ante-post Cox Plate market at 5-2.”
Frankel, who was a perfect 14 from 14 on the track, is the joint most expensive stallion standing his third consecutive season at £350,000. He also sees a limited number of mares to Southern time.
He has a remarkable strike rate of 17 per cent of stakes winners to runners.
