Punters have started to show their hand ahead of Golden Rose Day at Rosehill, with a $47,500 wager headlining the TAB big bets and several runners crunched in betting.
The biggest market move on the Rosehill card has come for Decorum in Race 5, who opened $3.50 and has been hammered into $1.90. One punter secured $3,500 at $3 before the price disappeared.
$47,500 bet lands on Lazzura
The biggest individual wager supplied by TAB is on Lazzura in Race 7, with one punter unloading $47,500 at $2.30.
The money hasn’t stopped there, with Lazzura firming from an opening $2.30 into $2.
It’s comfortably the largest bet reported by TAB across the Rosehill and Caulfield meetings and means the bookie will be cheering for an upset in Race 7.
Golden Rose money starts to arrive
Golden Rose favourite Guest House is listed alongside Decorum as one of TAB’s two best-backed runners at Rosehill.
One punter has had $2,200 at $2.30 on the favourite, while there has also been some decent each-way money for Under Focus, including a $4,500 each-way bet at $13/$3.18.
Elsewhere around the feature races, Modella has been one of the notable firmers, shortening from $8 into $5.
Big moves at double-figure odds
It’s not just those at the pointy end of the market attracting attention.
Vltava has been one of the biggest firmers of the meeting, slashed from $26 into $11, while Encap has more than halved in price from $51 into $23.
There has also been a significant push in the last, where Mercy Me has shortened from $8 into $4.40 and Annie’s Rose has been backed from $15 into $6.50.
Perhaps the most ambitious wager of the weekend so far has also come in the Rosehill closer, with one punter having $5,000 at $34 on Wootton Lass. That’s a potential collect of $170,000.
