The money is starting to flow ahead of Saturday’s racing, with TAB traders reporting a number of significant bets and market moves across Randwick and Flemington.
Tempted has been the standout with punters at Randwick, while there has also been strong support for Provata, Genesis Runner, Pinhole and De Armas.
At Flemington, two punters have taken a particularly strong position on Stipulation.
Stipulation well backed @ Flemington
Two punters struck within a minute of each other to have a combined $10,000 E/W on Stipulation (r4) at Flemington.
The first bet was $5,000 at $7.50 to win and $5,000 at $2.70 the place, before another punter followed almost immediately with $5,000 at $8 to win and $5,000 at $2.80 the place.
Combined, the two bets represent an outlay of $20,000 and could return approximately $105,000 if Stipulation gets the job done.
$30,000 bet on Tempted
Star sprinting mare Tempted has been TAB’s best-backed runner at Randwick, firming from an opening quote of $1.80 into $1.55 in the Permiere Stakes.
One punter was prepared to have $30,000 on the short-priced favourite at $1.55, with the bet set to return $46,500.
Randwick market movers
There have been some substantial moves at bigger prices on the Randwick card.
There has been a significant move for Provata in Race 3. After opening at $11, Provata has been backed into $6, including one bet of $5,000 at $9.50 to collect $47,500.
Well Written has attracted a $5,000 bet at $4 in the TAB Epsom and has firmed from $4.50 into $3.90 while Attica has shortened from $8 into $5.
De Armas (r6) has halved in price from $26 into $13, while Pinhole (r7) has been crunched from $26 into $11.
Genesis Runner is TAB’s second best-backed runner on the program, firming from $2.80 into $2.10.
Other notable moves include Nepo Baby from $15 into $9.50, Polymnia from $11 into $7 and Theblade from $6 into $4.40.

$22,000 riding on Roosters and Ka Ying Rising
One TAB punter has linked Sunday’s NRL Grand Final with The TAB Everest in a $22,000 two-leg multi.
The punter has taken the Sydney Roosters at $1.44 to beat Newcastle in Sunday’s Grand Final before rolling into Ka Ying Rising at $1.30 to win The TAB Everest at Randwick on October 17.
The combined odds are $1.87, giving the punter a potential collect of $41,140.
If the Roosters salute on Sunday, the punter will then have to wait almost two weeks for Ka Ying Rising to determine the fate of the multi.
