Bet Legends have continued to stand by their mantra of taking punters on.
Shaun Beirne has long been a leading form analyst and, as a bookmaker, he is prepared to put his stake in the ground and go head to head with punters when the price is wrong.
That is the case again this Saturday with two runners firmly in his sights.
Mornington R10: Duchess Zou under the microscope
Duchess Zou has been smashed since markets opened, the majority of punters looking to top up or blast out in the last at Mornignton.
But, Beirne believes she’s well over-bet and a risk at the price.
On his ratings, she is being asked to run well beyond what she has shown so far this preparation.
“She’s being priced as though she’s nearly two lengths better than what I can get her to,” Beirne said.
That leaves little room for error.
To justify her price, she needs to improve again.
At the moment, Beirne is not prepared to build that into her profile and as a result Bet Legends will be taking her on.
Randwick R9: Jimmystar a risk at the quote
Jimmystar has been well found by the market, but Beirne is not convinced he has come back this campaign.
“I’m questioning whether he’s come up this prep,” he said.
Through two runs, the ratings are well short of what is required to win a race of this depth.
“He needs four lengths or more improvement on what he’s produced so far to win what is a deep edition of the All AGed,” Beirne said.
That is a significant jump.
From a ratings perspective, Beirne does not see it happening.
Bet Legends the place to back Jimmy
Special: Get $5 about Jimmystar to run 1st or 2nd
Given he’s $4.80 to WIN the race, this is an outstanding offer for those who like him.
