Heat 1 – Blandford Baron (1st)
Good to see a new crop of 2yo’s step out. Liked the style of Blandford Baron, by first season sire Extreme Warrior. Looked professional and has a nice action. Would like to see him step out again but keen to follow.
Heat 4 – Schroder’s Mistake (3rd)
Schroder’s Mistake performed well in his first preparation and resumed here with a nice piece of work. Looks to have improved into his second prep. Accelerated well when asked to quicken. Still lightly raced and could work his way through the grades early this time in.
Heat 6 – It’sanotherbattle (1st)
A well-bred 3yo filly from Shane & Cassie Oxlade who won in great fashion. Showed speed early, came back underneath the rider and then produced a neat turn of foot when given her head. Doubt we see much of a price on debut but very impressive work.
Heat 9 – Isleham Village (4th)
Interesting runner who appears here for the first time in Australia for Will Clarken after a gelding operation. Has done his racing to date in Singapore and this was his first piece of work since August 2024. Nice work late in the heat and will be following.
Heat 13 – Shady Thinker (4th)
Love the return trial from this horse who has a stack of talent. Won the Magic Millions 3&4yo in his first preparation and he’s come back in great order. Jason Holder had a lap full of horse under him and didn’t let him go, but love the way he found the line. Could end up in some nice races this spring.
