Race 5 @ 2.46pm – Ausloans Mildura BM 56 (1109m)
Very keen on (6) Marilyn’s Edge in this event. This mare was tested in much stronger company last preparation and raced well, including a 4L defeat to Esternay in open 3yo fillies grade at Flemington. She returns in much weaker grade today off the back of two very good trials.
- 11/8 (800m trial): Jumped to a clear lead, moved well and came clear to win smartly.
- 25/8 (800m trial): Again led easily, turned in front, quickened well and challenged by the smart Astral Flame, went with it through the line under its own steam.
The race sets up well for her here from barrier six with the senior rider Liam Riordan on. Maps to get to the front comfortably and should be very hard to run down.
The dangers:
(4) Hollywood Boulevard: Was an eye catching winner at this track and trip last start, flying late to win. Maps to settle closer and looks the main winning threat.
