Iron filly Torture remains a strong chance to tackle the G1 Blue Diamond Stakes after pleasing her stable since returning from New Zealand.
The daughter of Sword Of State ran third in the $1 million Karaka Millions 2YO Classic at Ellerslie last month and has remained in work since returning to Australia.
Will Hayes said Torture, who won the Listed Debutant Stakes in the spring, will jump out at Flemington on Friday before a decision is made about whether runs in Victoria’s premier juvenile race.
Torture is $51 in Bet365’s Blue Diamond market.
“Torture is still in the mix (for the Blue Diamond) after coming back from New Zealand,” Hayes said.
“She’s got an incredible constitution and she hasn’t missed in the feed bin.
“She’s back down at Flemington now and we’ll give her a tick-over jump out on Friday and based on that, we’ll pick her next race accordingly.”
Hayes said Blue Diamond Preview placegetter Gin Twist could run in Saturday’s Talindert Stakes en route to the Diamond seven days later, while Capitalist gelding Rich Of Bubbles can also force his way into the field with a maiden win at Pakenham on Thursday night.
