It was as much relief than joy for Matt Laurie on Saturday as his star mare Treasurethe Moment finally returned to the winners stall, justifying her short price in the Sunline Stakes.
With a few doubters still unsure where she ranks amongst some of the stars in Australian racing, Laurie is set to take her to Sydney to find out.
But he admits he’s still unsure as to where, given the uncertainty of the fields.
‘’She’s nominated for the Doncaster and the Queen Of The Turf. That will be a discussion with the owners. I think a three week gap to her next run would be ideal,’’ Laurie said on Saturday, suggesting that the Queen of the Turf might suit her better.
”I think with the trip up there, it gives her time to settle in. The Doncaster is going to be a pretty strong race. Sheza Alibi goes there, Autumn Glow, I presume. That might be the right way for us to go.”

Laurie admitted to feeling the pressure with Treasurethe Moment given her reputation and recent disappointments.
‘’She was obviously pretty short in the market and she’s like that nearly every time she steps out,’’ Laurie said.
‘’There is a bit of pressure. I’ve been happy with her whole career. Her first-up run was fantastic without winning and this was a step down in grade to what she had been competing against. It’s lovely to see her go about it in that fashion and the lead in to her next start, it looked ideal.
“It’s slightly back in grade from what she had been racing against. She had done really well. She’s only been out of the top four only once in her whole career. It’s lovely to think you can keep winning and stringing the picket fence together, but it doesn’t work out like that. She’s been amazingly consistent the whole way through.”
