Unbeaten and unbothered: Chris Waller confident Autumn Glow will handle wet Randwick

Chris Waller is confident his undefeated filly Autumn Glow will handle a soggy Randwick as Sydney cops another round of heavy rain.

The star is nine from nine and is the $1.35 favourite with Bet365 for the Verry Elleegant Stakes on Saturday.

Speaking from Flemington on Friday, Waller said Autumn Glow has won on a Heavy 10 previously however his team will monitor conditions on Saturday.

‘’First up, last preparation … it was like a Heavy 10 it was really, really wet,’’ he told racing.com.

‘’And she got through it okay. So she’s drawn well, she’ll get a nice run to just be traveling comfortably and let down strong.’’

Waller said the track for Friday night’s racing at Canterbury in Sydney is currently rated a Soft 7, and he expects something similar tomorrow at Randwick.

‘’I’d say it would have been pretty dry before the rain arrived and I don’t think there’s much more forecast,’’ he said.

‘’I know they’re racing at Canterbury today, and that’s a [Soft] seven.”

‘’So that’s they would have had pretty similar weather, or with similar rain.”

‘’So as long as it’s safe, there shouldn’t be too many changes. We’ll have a good look at the track in the morning, look at the rating. But if it’s safe, [there will be] no changes at this stage.’’

Waller said Autumn Glow has shown no signs she won’t continue to improve following her eye-catching win in the Apollo Stales

‘’She’s terrific, she’s come out of it well,’ he said.

“[It’s a] two week turnaround, so she had a quiet gallop Saturday, strong piece of work on Tuesday. James McDonald was aboard in the gallop Tuesday and he was very pleased.’’
