Melbourne Cup winner Half Yours will have to undergo a race morning vet examination to run in the Doomben Cup after he was found to have mild lameness in his right hind leg on Friday morning.
Half Yours was the only runner to not pass the routine vet checks for the Group 1.
His trainer Tony McEvoy is adamant his star stayer had no issues and would be right to take his place on Saturday.
Half Yours won the Caulfield Cup and Melbourne Cup in the spring and a win at Group 1 level at weight-for-age would secure the Australian Horse of the Year honours.
He was favourite early in the week but Pride Of Jenni has taken over at the top of the market at $3.40 with Half Yours drifting beyond $4 on Betfair following the Queensland stewards report.
