Warwick Farm (Jan 22)
Heat 7 (801m): Maybe Moet – Chris Waller (Tommy Berry)
Solid enough record for this mare but going off her two trials this time in she has came back a better horse. Both hitouts she has been kept firmly on the bridle before finding the line effortlessly well – sharp through the line and now ready for the races.
Heat 7 (801m): Banjora – Bryce Heys (James McDonald)
Comes through the same heat as Maybe Moet. Always intriguing seeing James in the saddle for a lesser-known trainer. Looked a touch aggressive early but was impressive late and through the line. Ready to head to the races.
Heat 8 (801m): Hezdarnhottoo – Bjorn Baker (Jason Collett)
51 weeks off the scene but did have a prep and trial back 31 weeks ago, which will be key. Loved this first trial back, trucking along under a strong grip. Has smart form lines and looks back in great order.
Hawkesbury (Jan 23)
Heat 3 (800m): Concrete Storm – O’Shea & Charlton (Zac Lloyd)
Slick overall time for a 2yo. Sat on a hot speed before coming off heels and climbing up. Got past the leader with ease. Very professional debut piece of work and looks a smart type.
Heat 6 (1000m): Curie – Bjorn Baker (Dylan Gibbons)
Back-to-back impressive trials this prep. Comes off a 19-week let-up after starting $4.60 last start in a strong ratings race. That added piece of racecraft now should pay dividends. Ready to head to the races.
Heat 10 (800m): Ausbred Hed’n’Tail – Brad Widdup (Tyler Schiller)
Back-to-back impressive trials this prep. Eye-catching at Kembla before backing it up with a smart 1000m hit-out here. Loved the work late and through the line. Ready to go to the races.
Randwick (Jan 27)
Heat 5 (1050m): Samarelle – O’Shea & Charlton (James McDonald)
Smart last-start second to Panova, brought back with back-to-back very impressive trials this time in. Intrigued to see James stick with her for this second trial. Loved her turn of foot late and work through the line. Nice horse.
Heat 13 (740m): Miss Fleetwood – Michael Freedman (Andrew Adkins)
Convinced the penny has dropped with this mare. She is only a BM64 horse at present but is trialling like an out-and-out Saturday-grade galloper. Trusting the eye and the times here. Ready for the races.
