Turf Talk:
- Rail out 5m having been 3m at the most recent meeting
- Tight turning track where momentum is vital. If you’re going to make ground, you want to be getting on your bike before the home bend.
- Has raced reasonable well at the last couple of meetings.
- Rain/Soft 7 may see them wase away from the fence as the meeting goes on.
Race 2
(10) Doralee ran very well in two runs last campaign. She was narrowly beaten first up at Kembla Grange in a race that produced several subsequent winners. It was a similar story in her other run at Newcastle, which has also proven a good form race. Loved her trials since settling into Melbourne and she’s drawn ideally to get a gun run up on speed.
(8) Super Luck Dragon has trialled well between runs and has a tongue tie going on here – could be a big improver.
Suggested bet:Keen Doralee, staggered she’s not favourite. $2.70 appeals greatly.
Race 3
Handy maiden.
They don’t trial any better than (9) Chisolm has ahead of her return to the track. The knock is she has trialled well across her career and failed to get it done on raceday, but if she can run up to her work they won’t see which way she went.
(2) Filthy has trialled up well. He didn’t wear blinkers in his first few jump-outs, but since they have gone on her has really picked up. Jamie Melham has done all the prep work on this bloke with her dad being one of two owners in the horse. Clint McDonald is a jet with his debutants and expect this gelding to go very close on debut.
Suggested bet: Can’t trust Chisolm, despite her trialling so well. Backing Filthy – he will run well on debut.
