Yulong will look to cash in on its $8.45 million buying spree at Inglis Chairman’s Sale within a week when Group placed Snow In May lines up in the Dark Jewel Classic at Scone on Saturday.

The Autumn Sun filly, which changed hands for $1.05 million on Thursday, will stay in the care of Tom Charlton and try to add a Group 3 to her resume.

“Very fortunate, firstly that Yulong has allowed us to continue on [as the trainer]. We had a plan to run her in the Dark Jewel Classic next Saturday, all being well,” Charlton said.

“We have been keeping her in work out here [at Warwick Farm] through the week and hopefully it is a race we can target successfully.”

Snow In May was beaten in a photo finish by Captain Furai in the BenchMark 100 to close the Randwick carnival in April before being offered for sale.

She was one of five $1 million plus buys for Yulong, which also included Group 1 winner Benedetta for $1.9 million and Provence for $1.8 million.

“She is a beautiful physical [type], and obviously Mr Zhang also purchased Streisand as well. They look very similar on type,” Yulong chief operations officer Sam Fairgray said.

Yulong missed out on the top lot of the night with Coolmore prevailing at $5.6 million for Reisling Stakes winner Chayan amid a spirited battle between the two global racing giants.

Snow In May will be part of a big team heading to Scone for Charlton, who will also have Linebacker in the Luskin Star Stakes as he gets ready for the Stradbroke in Brisbane.

“Linebacker likes the 1300m and will enjoy the big Scone track. Hopefully, we can get him a bit of confidence on the way to the Stradbroke,” Charlton said. “Napoleonic will go to the Doomben 10,000 with James McDonald to ride him and he is ready to go after a recent trial.”
