Best Bet R4 No.3 Stokke Won 1st up, looks suited coming to this track fitter now
Next Best R5 No.8 One Hard Lady Resuming, won 1st up last prep and gets favourable conditions today

Turf Talk:

  • Similar conditions expected as last weekend with the track rated a Good 4. With clear skies an upgrade is possible.
  • The rail moves out to +7m entire, slightly further than last week.
  • The Valley can be tough to make ground at, so usually favours horses settling in the first half of the field.

The Stats That Matter:

  • Celine Gaudray is in hot form with 13 wins from her last 50 starts at a huge ROI of +106.3%. She has three rides on this program.

Race 4 No.3 Stokke

(3) STOKKE resumed in handy order with a solid 2.5L win at Sandown. She takes a small step up in grade here but has the early speed to take advantage of The Valley’s bias to on-pace runners. If she improves even slightly from her first-up win she will be very hard to catch.

Race 5 No.8 One Hard Lady

(8) ONE HARD LADY had a very successful debut prep when she won the first 3 runs of her career. After that she looked to take a step up and competed well in stronger grade races down the Flemington straight. This is her first look at The Valley but on paper, she sets up well from the inside barrier and can get out in front and be prominent. Looks a suitable kick off point for a runner who performed well fresh in her last prep.
