Race 1 – 12:25PM JJJ RACING CG&E MAIDEN HANDICAP (1300 METRES)
Not a huge amount of speed on paper. Maybe #1 ARGANSORT for the Waterhouse and Bott camp will take up their usual position on speed, now up in distance and second up.
#7 WONKA is the horse we’re keen to follow from the trials. This colt will likely camp just in behind the speed and should get a good run in transit. He might just need the breaks to come at the right time. His first trial over 745m was fantastic, making huge ground. Didn’t quite love his latest trial over 1045m, settling on speed and having a soft time of it over the concluding stages. James McDonald rode him in both trials which is always a positive. The money has come for this colt which is a positive sign and we’re happy to be with him.
The danger is #4 SKYSTONE who has done the most on the track. Clearly the highest last start rating performance, running second at this track and distance. Rock hard fit now and a major player.
Suggested Bet:
#7 WONKA (WIN)
Race 6 – 3:25PM PRIVATE DRIVERS ONLINE SUPER MAIDEN HANDICAP (1000 METRES)
Super Maiden over 1000m and some nice trailers engaged here. In fact, four last start trial winners engaged and a very interesting race. RNSW maps have #1 RED HOT ROSIE the likely leader with #4 SPUD GUN and the debutant #2 DEFINITION handy.
#6 MILLE FEUILLE showed a lot of speed in her recent trial, winning that well. She can be close to the speed without surprise at all. Really liked her trial and she looks a winning hope. Can see why she is favourite.
With that said, we are keen to be with #10 HARRY’S HUSSEY on debut. This filly by Harry Angel showed a very nice turn of foot to take out her recent trial. She improved between trials and should get a lovely run just in behind the speed from barrier 4. Thought she was the pick of the triallers and the one we want to be with.
Suggested Bet:
#10 HARRY’S HUSSEY (WIN)
