Race Selection Comment
Race 7 No. 1 Legio Ten (EW) Resuming runner with good record at this distance and 1st up
Race 9 No. 14 Lovelycut (Best) Class runner who looks ideal set to peak 3rd up now down in grade

Turf Talk:

  • Clear weather is forecast for today’s meeting, the track is rated at a Good 4 so expect that rating to remain.
  • The rail will be in the True position, generally Seymour is a track that plays fairly with a good spread of winners coming from a variety of positions.

The Stats That Matter:

  • Grahame Begg has recently had good success here at Seymour, he has had 9 winners from 35 starts, striking at 25.7% with a POT of +26.6
  • Ethan Brown has also had good success here in recent times with 9 wins from 37 rides as 24.3% and a POT of +47.2%

Race 7 No.1 Legio Ten (EW)

(1) Legio Ten resumes here for a new stable today. He has had a long spell but will resume down in grade from what he was competing in prior to the spell. He has a strong record when 1st up (6:2-1-1) as well as a strong record over the 1100m trip (6:3-0-1). Needs to recapture his best previous form lines, but looked solid in a recent trial win so he can certainly find himself in the finish with this set up.

Race 9 No.14 Lovelycut

(14) Lovelycut is a lightly raced mare who has shown to have good talent through the early parts of her career. After a Group 1 prep last time in work, she has recently resumed and hits this at peak fitness 3rd up now. She showed good signs last start running within 2L of proven Group level horses, so she looks well suited down in grade here today.
