Race 1 – 1100m Maiden (12.30pm)

#10 KIPPIS has been most impressive in two jump-outs at Cranbourne leading into this debut. She used an inside barrier to lead her heat on September 20, going on to win by a good margin under very light riding. She was then given a very soft hit-out on October 20, moving strongly to the line. She is drawn gate one on debut and should be able to use it to drive up and settle leader’s back and provided the gaps open up she will prove awfully hard to beat on debut. Like the booking of Celine Gaudray, too.

#3 BOLTING BLUE is right in the market on the back of winning a jump-out by a space at Cranbourne on November 3. The knock with him is he has been slow out in both jump-outs leading into his debut, which he won’t want to do here on race day.

Betting suggestion:

Backing #10 KIPPIS

Race 4 – 1000m BM66 (2.10pm)

The flyers do battle here over the sprint trip and it’s a pretty easy map: #3 SPEIR will lead, and comfortably.

Speir is a horse that is always going to trial well – he’s a fast horse with a high cruising speed. So it’s no surprise to see him win two jump-outs by a space at Cranbourne leading into this campaign. He looks to be in good order for the new stable, having switched to Nathan McPherson.

He strikes a race with little other speed here first up, maybe #6 BOLD PRINT can push forward as well, but he’s doesn’t have the early toe Speir does. He strikes a firm deck fresh which is ideal and these tighter-turning tracks such as Moe and The Valley are very much in his favour. He should have a decent break on them coming into the home straight and provided the inside lane is OK then think they will struggle to catch up.

Betting Suggestion:

Back #3 SPEIR (WIN)
