Gawler – Saturday December 13
Horses To Follow
Zarkana (R2 1200m No Metro Win Handicap)
ZARKANA was looking to rise in level here having won a BM58 in her last start. She was well supported in markets but the race map told for her late, the query would always be where she should get from the inside barrier and at the 200m mark when she was looking for the run, she was just held up enough to lose momentum before hitting the line strongly producing the 2nd fastest L600m of the meeting, if she gets more luck she certainly makes the finish much more interesting, look for her 3rd up with a more suitable race map.
Cash (R7 1200m BM76)
CASH is clearly the eye catcher of the meeting, he is lightly raced and from what we have seen so far in his career, clearly very talented. He was backed off the map to win this 1st up assignment, but was slow away from the barriers and found himself too far back in the run and with too much to do late in the race. In the straight he has reeled off the 3rd fastest L600m of the meeting but couldn’t pick up the leader. He will take benefit out of this race and should prove hard to beat next start.
Trail & Jump-out eye catchers
Morphettville 9/12
Jump Out #2 – Caladan
CALADAN was the winner of heat number 2 on the day, he looked to stride out with relative ease under a small amount of pressure but this is now the 2nd piece of nice trial/jump-out work he has done recently so he does looks a runner ready to resume at the races soon and likely in good order.
Murray Bridge 11/12
Trial #1 – Zouwin
This was the only 2YO trial on the program and it was easy to be taken by the impressive run of ZOUWIN. He got the ideal run from the inside barrier so was prominent through the run, but his best work was in the straight when runners behind him were under pressure, ZOUWIN strode out to run away and win by 3L but under ZERO pressure, clearly looks a talent and one to put in the book in wait for his debut run.
