Turf Talk
- The track is currently rated at a Good 4, but there is a chance for some afternoon showers so monitoring how much rain and any potential downgrades.
- The rail will be in the True again as it was at the previous meeting here under lights.
- At that previous meeting under lights the track played fairly with winners coming from a variety of positions so expecting that to be the case again.
The Stats That Matter
- Logan Bates rides the Cranbourne track well and has a positive 19.5% strike rate at a healthy POT of +17.9%. He is engaged for 5 rides at this meeting.
Race 6 NO.9 Demarcate (Each-way)
Demarcate is resuming for a new stable here today. He was a winner on debut and then sent around in some stronger level 2YO races. Resuming gelded and trialling well, he won’t surprise in this race at odds. Drawn well for this sprint trip while key chances in the race (including the favourite who is coming off a long spell) are drawn out wider and may be made to do some extra work to find position. If Demarcate jumps out clean and settles in the first four in running he will be well set up.
Selections: 9 – Demarcate
Suggested Bet: Each-way
Race 7 No.2 Chest Of Gold
Was well supported last start at Pakenham when dropping in grade but got run over the top of and faded late. But going to give him another chance here in a different set up today. Back to the 1400m looks ideal as it has been his pet trip with his two career wins coming at the 1400m and one of those at this track. He is drawn well so can settle on speed again but expecting with the drop in distance he will be stronger late this time and should have no excuses.
Selections: 2 – Chest Of Gold
Suggested Bet: Win
