Very good fields and punters who haven’t watched closely get to have a good look at the track before the big days in January.
My gut says it will play a bit on-speed, but well worth watching closely as the night unfolds.
Race 2 No.1 Mister Bianco $2.50
Couldn’t place this horse any better. Fresh run was fine but this is easier, gets a 3kg claim and always a better horse 2nd up. Hasn’t been known for putting fields away but this should be like shooting fish in a barrel. Got to be winning this to progress, and he should.
Race 3 No.7 Hell $4
This is one who will be up on speed and if that’s the place to be, he will be very hard to beat. Well supported fresh and looked the winner only to be run over late. Fitter, suitable race and just needs a good ride early from gate 10. You can ride this horse like a motorbike and it just seems to keep responding.

Race 4 No.11 Kickuphigh $12/3.60
I reckon this filly has a bit of a class edge but no doubt she’d be better at 1600m and beyond. Don’t worry about the last run, 1200m way too short and big gap between runs. Will strip fitter and hopefully can land a bit closer from the good draw, don’t want to drop out to last. There is good speed and she can be the strongest late.
Race 8 No.5 Blackjack $4.20
Might be a good one this bloke. More than a pass mark on debut down south and tipped straight out after that. Has been off the scene a long time but readied for this with a couple of trials. The blinkers went on in the latest and he looked a new horse. He may need the run but he could bolt in and it wouldn’t surprise me in any way.
