Turf Talk:
- The track is currently rated at a Soft 5 race morning but sunny conditions are expected so suggest the track can improve to a good rating at some stage.
- The rail will be in the True position the entire.
- It is a tight turning track that can favour on-speed types.
The Stats that Matter:
- Trainer Darryl Dodson brings 4 runners to this meeting today and has been in super form of late, having won 15 of his last 100 races at a POT of +31.1%.
Race 4 No.1 Naralinga
NARALINGA impressed in his 1st up win at Mount Gambier when storming over the top of the field to produce the fastest L600m of the meeting to win a close photo. He comes into this race fitter, 2nd up now, and the rise to the 1100m looks ideal. The small risk is he may get back in this field, but it looks as if this race will be run at a quick tempo which gives him his chance to swoop on them late.
Race 5 No2. Tarpaulin
TARPAULIN hasn’t found his best in his last few starts but is dropping down in grade for this today which could help him find the required level of improvement he needs. Last start didn’t go to plan for him when he got caught wide at The Valley, he is drawn in barrier 1 here today so looks to get a softer run and the gear change of the tongue tie coming on suggests he may have had some issues recently so expecting improvement here today.
