Turf Talk:
- Overcast conditions forecast for a track rated a Good 4. There are some showers forecast for Friday but expecting not enough rain to change the track conditions.
- The rail will be pushed out again from the previous meeting at this track and be +9m 1000 to WP & +5m remainder.
- Generally, with the rail pushed out in this position, runners on speed or forward of midfield have the advantage, particularly on dry ground.
The Stats That Matter:
- Returning rider Campbell Rawiller has a terrific record on the Morphettville Parks track with a winning strike rate of 23.2% at a POT of +36.5% and is engaged for three rides at this meeting.
Race 4 No.4 Sir Myka
Expecting to see an improved effort from (4) Sir Myka here today who didn’t get much of a run first up when caught wide and enduring a tough run from that position. He managed to stick on okay despite the tough run, but second up and fitter now will suit. The fact he has drawn an inside barrier gives him a much softer run map, which can have him well placed to see out the 1400m trip and bounce back to the form we saw in his debut prep.
Race 6 No.10 Balistique
Having shown promise earlier in the prep for no reward, (10) Balistique finally got the job done last start when proving far too good in a race at Strathalbyn. This is a step up in level now, so she needs to find some improvement, but drawn well in barrier 2 gives her a good run. She hit the line very strongly last start; if she produces similar sectionals late with a favourable map here, she could prove hard to hold out now that her confidence is up.
