Race Horse Comment
R5 No.5 Chartin 3 x 2nds in a row, looks to get a favourable race map
R7 No.3 Greenidge Better suited dropping in grade and goes well at this track

Turf Talk:

  • The track is rated as a Soft 5. There are showers forecast for Sunday, but it’s likely they’ll come after or only late in the day.
  • The rail remains in the same positions as the previous meeting and will be +2m 600m–800m & True the remainder.
  • Generally an even track, but expect runners to come away from the inside lanes in the straight.

The stats that matter:

  • In form trainer Daryl Dodson brings three runners to this meeting. In his last 100 runners, he’s returned a healthy POT of +37.6% and boasts a strong record at this track with an 18.2% strike rate and a POT of +22.7%.
  • Apprentice Alysha Warren continues to make good use of her claim and is riding well. In her last 50 rides, she’s produced nine winners at a strong ROI of +40.8%.

Race 5 No.5 Chartin

CHARTIN has been knocking on the door for a win, finishing runner-up in his last three starts. He was outlasted by the winner last time out, but this race maps far more favourably for him. Expect him to push forward, and with few rivals showing early speed, he could control the tempo. If he’s able to pinch a soft run through the middle stages, he’ll be very hard to run down late, especially carrying just 54kg after the apprentice claim.

Selections: (5) CHARTIN
Suggested Bet: CHARTIN WIN

Race 7 No.3 Greenidge

GREENIDGE looks well placed here dropping back in distance after fading late when leading over longer trips. Returning to Naracoorte – a track where she’s two-from-two – she gets back to her ideal setup. Expect her to be prominent again in the run, and with in-form apprentice Alysha Warren taking 1.5kg off, she should get every chance to return to winning form.

Selections: (3) GREENIDGE
Suggested Bet: GREENIDGE WIN
