Turf Talk:
- Traralgon only hosts two meetings per year.
- It’s not the best draining track so will be interesting to see how wet it is.
- Generally, a significant advantage to be on speed with a short home straight.
- That said, a few horses made ground at the meeting on November 1, but particularly the shorter distance races were dominated nearer the speed, which is typical.
- Track has come up a Soft 7 but rain is forecast, they won’t want to get too much as the meeting will be in jeopardy quickly.
Key Stats:
- Patrick Moloney rides Traralgon well having had 8 winners from 45 rides at a PoT of 13.4%.
- John McArdle has his stable going well, striking at 19% from his last 100 runners at a PoT of 26.8% for the punters.
- Annabel and Rob Archibald are another stable in form, going at 20% with their last 100 runners. Not surprisingly, today marks their first runner at Traralgon.
- Nick Ryan has brought five runners to Traralgon for three winners.
Race 5
Should be good speed here with Magnabelle Royale, The Wizard King and Warrior Smile pushing forward.
Was keen on Magnabelle Royale on debut at Dunkeld, but she seems very short here at $2.30 off that win. She can certainly win again, but this is a much tougher contest and she’s drawn out with plenty of speed underneath.
Forever With Ned is a handy galloper. She has trialled nicely for this and she loves the sting out of the ground. Can race handy to the speed – which is crucial around Traralgon – and she’s drawn a nice marble.
Warrior Smile is the other horse I’m keen to have something on. Gelded heading into this campaign, he has jumped-out reasonably well. He has drawn ideally in gate five and he showed good ability as a 2yo.
Suggested bet: Backing Forever With Ned/Warrior Smile
