Summary of Best Bets:
Race 2 #2 Synergy In Motion – Not much between this and topweight but like that this will lead.
Race 4 #7 Glass Of Rose – Simply loved the recent trial here on home track.
Stats that matter:
- Justin Huxtable has ridden 5 winners from the last 10 he has jumped on. Confidence up and has some key rides here.
- Lockwood/Vincent have trained 9 winners from 33 this season and ROI of +138%.
Turf Talk:
- Rail 1m from 1000m-400m. True the remainder.
- Always a track where it can play to the front but if wet they may get to middle of the track in the straight. A big wait and watch the first couple of races is important.
Race 1:
Tough way to start, plain animals.
(1) Divil A Bit comes out of an ordinary race but still thought it stuck on OK late. Rock hard fit after the run at 1800m and back to 1650m actually looks very suitable.
I had three winning chances and two have scratched.
I gave (10) Artistic Touch a chance but felt the price was unders initially. After scratchings it might be the main danger to our on top selection but it’s limited.
Hard to make a case for any others in a poor race.
Selections:
(1) Divil A Bit
(10) Artistic Touch
Suggested Bet: Small win bet (1) Divil A Bit
Race 2:
Small field but, gee, it is an interesting event.
I’d say (1) Cho Oyu is the best horse in the race and was very good in town last prep. Has a good fresh record and the recent trial was more than good enough. If the leaders are weak late, this one will go over the top. Would have gone on top if they went for a leading jock.
Love the racing pattern of (2) Synergy In Motion. It will lead these and could have a few lengths on them as they corner if the apprentice gives it a good ride. Smart claim to get in light and will look the winner for sure.
(3) Chilliwack and (4) Jungle Law are the next best and are winning hopes.
Selections:
(2) Synergy In Motion
(1) Cho Oyu
(3) Chilliwack
(4) Jungle Law
Suggested Bet: Small win bet (2) Synergy In Motion
Race 3:
Another good race here.
Hard to knock (1) North Pole. Pretty handy CL1 in town last start and I think there will be multiple winners come out of it. No match the winner but ran well to finish 2nd. This is no harder and looks to set up well for him.
(4) Enforceable might be the leader and comes here off a dominant Maiden win at the GC. On speed was an advantage that day but he did it well. Has more wins in store off that run.
Beware (8) Social Pariah. Been off the scene a long time but the debut win was well above average in a race I feel was very good. Poor trial but watch the market.
Selections:
(1) North Pole
(4) Enforceable
(8) Social Pariah
Suggested Bet: Win bet (1) North Pole
Race 4:
Tricky race this one.
(7) Glass Of Rose lacks a bit of class and has only won 2 of 25 which is a concern. Gee, I liked the recent trial on this track though, and off that alone I give her a massive chance in this race.
(1) Better Not Forget showed ability last prep but mixed form and is hard to catch. Could be a better horse this prep and won a trial leading into this. Can run well without surprising.
(3) Sum Invictus was good at the first two runs for the new stable but was well beaten last time out. If you can forgive that run, the form before lines up well.
Selections:
(7) Glass Of Rose
(1) Better Not Forget
(3) Sum Invictus
Suggested Bet: Win bet (7) Glass Of Rose
Race 5:
Best of the raced brigade is (1) Righteous Legend and it won’t get a better chance to win. Was very consistent without winning last prep and has trialled well leading into this. Draws well for a good jock and should be no excuses here.
Loved the first trial of (4) Il Fratello and the second one had merit too. Never easy to win on debut but he looks to have ability. Draws a good gate and could surprise a few here.
(12) Lilsisterdon’tcha was good on debut but not great fresh. Fitter and could be the improver 2nd up. Not much else of note here.
Selections:
(1) Righteous Legend
(4) Il Fratello
(12) Lilsisterdon’tcha
Suggested Bet: Win (1) Righteous Legend and smaller (4) Il Fratello
Race 6:
(3) Detrimental has been close up the last couple and is rock hard fit 4th up. Good stable/jock and off those last runs he is a leading chance here. Hope they are positive again from the gate.
(7) Black Minto has bumped into a couple of in-form horses the last couple and she can be on speed for a long way. Can be a bit weak late though.
(1) The Catch has raced in tougher grade but is a rising 9yr old. Always respect this stable on their home deck though.
(4) Scoundrel is limited but has won two of last three and dominant in the wins. One of them was at this track and draws the inside gate. Has the ability to map well from there.
Selections:
(3) Detrimental
(7) Black Minto
(4) Scoundrel
(1) The Catch
Suggested Bet: No bet
Race 7:
Hard way to finish but scratching’s have helped take a couple of chances out of the mix.
(1) Drialle has been OK without being great recently. Gets 3kg off for a good apprentice but needs a good ride early. Big positive is that he is 2/2 on the track.
The distance is a query for (3) Giving Delight but I like the races he comes through this prep. This looks easier, like the apprentice a lot and should land midfield without spending a penny from the gate.
(11) Toros was a pass mark fresh and is a better horse 2nd up. Mallyon rides, fitter now and can be the big improver.
Scratchings took the next 2-3 chances out of this. Happy to take on the fave (7) Assent and back the two mentioned.
Selections:
(3) Giving Delight
(11) Toros
Suggested Bet: Splitting win bets (3) Giving Delight and (11) Toros
