(2) PORTARLINGTON is the only runner in this 2YO race that has already had race experience when running 4th in a handy race 1st up. He was slow away, so always looked up against it but should be better for that experience and his trial form suggests he is capable of a win.

(4) CHURCHILL ROSE maps well here on debut and showed promise in a recent jump out.

(3) SAMSTORM next who has trialled up well of late and looks the next best based on trial form. The (1) DINAH BEACH rounds out the numbers in the now 4 horse field after scratchings

Race 2

(1) BEAUTIFUL JEWEL has been competitive with no wins so far this prep but this looks to be a drop in grade for her today so she should be well suited at this level based on recent form.

(6) SAINT BOOM broke through for a maiden win last start in impressive fashion, this will require a step up in level, but she looks capable of going on with it after an impressive win.

(5) SEA OF LIGHTS gets in light at the weights after an apprentice claim so looks suited rising in trip at this point.

(2) FAST TEMPO rises in grade today having won at maiden level last time, he took up the lead and never looked like being caught last time and looks likely to find the lead and be prominent here again today

Race 3

(5) COMMON INTEREST was an impressive winner on debut at Balaklava before coming out and running a close 2nd in a BM66 race that rated highly and has produced good form since. He looks a progressive type with the right race map here so expecting a prominent run.

Victorian visitor (1) WHISKEY JOE showed good speed when winning on debut at Sale, he may be well suited at this track if given a soft time out in front again.

(2) BOOTLEGGER showed good form last prep but got caught out wide when resuming recently, he can be an improver today with a better race map and extra fitness.

(3) SIR MYKA took a big jump up in grade to compete at a Listed level race at Flemington last time, he will be much better suited dropping back to Benchmark grade today.

Race 4

Like the set up for (3) NASHO here today. He is on the quick back up having gone around last weekend and in his previous two starts on the quicker back up, he has won. He is better suited at the 1550m trip today and usually is at his best when he can go along out in front and control the race tempo, again in with a light weight he could take catching if untested out in front.

(2) DUAL PRESSURE rates highly and drops in grade having been well supported in The Gawler Cup, dropping back down in grade here today should suit.

(5) HARD PRINCE showed improvement last start in a similar level race to this today. If he can be positive from the inside barrier, he should find himself in a good position through the run.

(7) LONGER ROUTE should be fitter 2nd up now and can show improvement at a distance he has had good success at previously (3:2-0-0).

(6) PALM OF JUMEIRAH hasn’t had a great deal of luck in her first two runs this prep but looks ready for the 1250m trip today given the way she has been hitting the line, drawn much better in barrier 4 today so expect her to race closer to the speed and be in a better position in run today.

(1) MYSTIC WONDER went to the front and gave nothing else a chance to win last start with strong closing sectionals having taken control of the race. She maps well here again and if she goes forwards and leads again, she could prove tough to catch.

(2) BEAUTY RISING resumes here today, she gets in well at the weights and gets back to more suitable conditions than where she finished last prep so would expect an improved performance today.

Expect (5) SWIFTIE HARRIET can be an improver here today with a better race map, her form before last start was consistent in stronger grades.

(3) GURU WARRIOR is hard to look past in this race given his recent form having won three in a row now. He again needs to rise in trip but hit the line strongly enough to suggest that he is again the horse to beat in this race if he maintains his recent form.

(8) TALISAY was hitting the line as well as GURU WARRIOR when they met last start, so rising in distance should suit, but off that last start still needs to find some lengths on the favourite, but swing in weights will be a factor that helps

(10) SAVATOFF can be an improver here rising in trip and will be light in at the weights so expect he can be strong through the line late.

(5) KIRKLISTON BLU takes a sharp rise in trip here 2nd up today, the race looks to have a moderate tempo which should see him land in a handy position early in run

(8) CAPITALEX was well supported last start but had too much to do late from position at the back of the field, suggest he can be an improver here today with a better race map from the inside barrier so expect he will race closer to the lead this time and in a better position which should give him a better chance.

(5) GINGER SINNER hit the line strongly last start at Murray Bridge so will be suited rising to the 1250m trip today and will be well aided by a 3kg apprentice claim.

(3) IL CUBO will drop in grade from his previous race and can be an improver with a suitable on speed race map here in conditions that are expected to suit.

(7) STEEL TSUNAMI is on the quick back-up having ran into the placings in a similar level race to this last week. He can again be around the mark in the same grade.

(5) SHISUTA BO was made to work from a wide barrier last week and it told late when she was run over the top of. She remains in a similar level race but draws towards the inside barrier today which should see her get a better run and can improve today.

(6) THERMODYNAMIC ran a close 2nd in a similar level of race to this last week, he drops slightly in weight which will suit and looks likely to run over the top late if a hot speed is put into the race.

(7) VAN ROY appears as if he will be suited at this track and with the inside barrier should be in a handy position in run, dropping back to a 1550m trip here today looks suitable.

With plenty of speed on in the race, that could set up for a runner like (10) SAN LUCIDO to swoop over the top late if they over do it out in front. He has a light weight on his back so should be strong late with the right run.

Race 9

Resuming (1) ENUFF SEDUCTION kicks off this prep down in grade from the level he was contesting last prep and gets in well here at this distance, it is a tricky race to map but barrier 3 should give him an ideal run.

(14) SI SENORA resumes for his 2nd career prep having showed good talent in his debut campaign and is a recent trial winner, if he can be positive from the inside barrier he could be hard to catch late with the lighter weight.

(3) KALASEC can mix his form but is slightly down in grade today which suits and today’s conditions give him his best opportunity to show his better form.

(6) BRISTLER rates well in this field and has good early speed, he can win but needs luck early from the wide barrier to cross and find the right position.
