Best Bets Summary:
Race 5 No.2 In Love (Best) – Drops in grade and the shorter trip suits
Race 7 No.5 Andrew’s Memory (Value) – No luck last start, better suited here at this track
Turf Talk:
- Expecting clear conditions on race day and the meeting to start on a Good 4.
- The rail moves out from its previous position and will be +7m from the 1200m chute and +10m the remainder.
- With this track setup, it should play fairly, with a slight advantage to runners who can find cover in the run.
Stats:
- Teagan Voorham has been in strong recent form, riding 18 winners in her last 100 rides for a POT of +38.6%. She also boasts a positive POT of +11.11% at this track.
Race 1
(1) Bocheeva and (2) Classy Claret have both had plenty of chances to break through for a maiden win, but this looks one of their better opportunities. Bocheeva has placed at his past three starts and maps to be out in front in what could be a moderately run race. A slight rise in distance should suit Classy Claret and gives him his best chance yet.
(5) The Highlander is lightly raced but proven at these staying trips.
(8) Blabber Mouth was doing some good work late at Oakbank last start, so rising in distance again should suit.
Selections:
(1) Bocheeva
(2) Classy Claret
(5) The Highlander
(8) Blabber Mouth
Suggested bet: No bet
Race 2
(7) Stylish Flipper comes out of the same race but didn’t really finish off; this is easier, and he may be better suited from a wider barrier.
(4) Summertime Madness showed good early speed when resuming to settle close to the leaders and can improve fitter second-up, though the wide draw is a challenge.
(11) Second Heaven looked good in a recent trial and appears the best of the debutants.
(1) Nic The Cash makes his debut for a new stable today, he brings different form lines here from Victoria and gets a soft run from a good barrier. Some of the peaks ratings he has reached before would be good enough to win a race like this if he can produce that level.
Selections:
(7) Stylish Flipper
(4) Summertime Madness
(11) Second Heaven
(1) Nic The Cash
Suggested bet: No bet
Race 3
(5) Galileo Gold has placed at both runs this preparation and looks close to a win. He hit the line strongly last start and should appreciate the long straight here.
(12) Fear The Zou should get a softer run than last start and can improve in what looks an easier race.
(3) Bargain Boy drops down from a metro level maiden to this provincial level. On paper it looks an easier race for him which could see him find improvement
(1) Mikki Tango ran into the placings when 1st up, fitter 2nd up now and rising in trip looks suitable.
Selections:
(5) Galileo Gold
(12) Fear The Zou
(3) Bargain Boy
(1) Mikki Tango
Suggested bet: No bet
Race 4
A tough race to sort out over the staying trip.
(5) Lady Lupara improved to win a similar race at this track and distance last start. She carries more weight but can win again in a comparable setup.
(3) Greatestofease hit the line well at Oakbank and should be better suited stepping up in trip on the bigger track.
(1) Flying Assassin can mix his form, but his record here is strong (4:2-1-0) and he rates highly at his best.
(9) Ambitious Creek looks the likely leader and could be hard to catch if the tempo is moderate.
Selections:
(5) Lady Lupara
(3) Greatestofease
(1) Flying Assassin
(9) Ambitious Creek
Suggested bet: No bet
Race 5
(2) In Love looks well placed dropping in grade and back from 1000m to 900m, which suits her on-speed pattern. This shapes as her best chance of the prep.
(10) Effusiv showed improvement last start and will want a strong tempo to swoop late from the wide draw.
(7) Nadege resumes after a consistent last prep, including a maiden win at this track, and is well suited here.
(1) Katim’s Club resumes and rates well, though she may be better over further later in the campaign.
Selections:
(2) In Love
(10) Effusiv
(7) Nadege
(1) Katim’s Club
Suggested bet: (2) In Love (Win)
Race 6
(1) Rocktagon never really got going last start when settling back, but his prior form was in stronger races and the bigger track may suit.
(5) Bolted In hit the line well last start and has won at this track and distance previously.
(11) Lady Of Savoy looks the likely leader and has placed at her past two starts, with the drop back to 1200m expected to suit.
(2) All Shot resumes and has trialled well here; her last prep form was solid in higher grade races.
Selections:
(1) Rocktagon
(5) Bolted In
(11) Lady Of Savoy
(2) All Shot
Suggested bet: No bet
Race 7
(5) Andrew’s Memory and (4) Pricilla’s Choice ran first and second last start, with Pricilla’s Choice clearly on top. However, Andrew’s Memory had little luck in the straight and is better suited here, also gaining a weight swing.
(1) Royal Fox wasn’t beaten far in a stronger Morphettville race last start and drops nicely in grade.
(12) Lucky Fortuna looks the likely early leader and has won her only previous start at this track and distance.
Selections:
(5) Andrew’s Memory
(4) Pricilla’s Choice
(1) Royal Fox
(12) Lucky Fortuna
Suggested bet: (5) Andrew’s Memory (Win)
