(2) ROCMONT has enjoyed success on the Riccarton synthetic track when ridden aggressive from the gates, having drawn low he could take up the running and take catching, best distance is 1600m, if wound up the 1300m fresh poses no problem.

The (6) ANGELS BREW was ultra-impressive winning first-up in fast time this course & distance. Taking a sit behind the speed she proved too good over the concluding stages. That win measures up in this higher grade and does have the option in this race to use her excellent gate speed to lead or sit OSL in this field and take beating once more.

The speed is moderate. (4) WRY SMILE saves his best efforts for the Cambridge poly and was given a very quiet ride in a stronger race first-up, he was home in good fractions behind the impressive winner and only needs more intent using the 4kg claim to advantage here to be fighting out the finish. Genuine winning chance. (5) LA QUERIDA can improve sharply third-up with a significant class drop into this event, ran well on last start with the race shape against and is over the odds as a Top 3 chance.
