Cheltenham rolls into Day 3 and the markets again look vulnerable in a number of races with a couple of runners at huge prices featuring in the tips.
As with the previous days, the mail comes from someone right in the middle of the UK jumps scene. Their Cheltenham intel in previous years has proven extremely sharp, and they have again identified a handful of runners they believe are overpriced in the market.
Below is their full assessment of Day 3 at the Cheltenham Festival.
13:20 (12:20am AEST) – Race 1
The form of Bambino Fever’s bumper win is not really working out and her form this year does not justify being such a short price. That makes it worth throwing a few darts at bigger odds. Full Of Life beat Carrigmornaspruce earlier in the year yet is around 40/1 while that rival sits closer to 10/1, which makes her worth a play at the prices. La Conquiere is a good mare and ran well in a strong bumper at Aintree last year, so she is another expected to run well.
Tip: Full Of Life @ 25/1
14:00 (1:00am AEST) – Race 2
An open race but Stencil strikes as the right type for this contest and with his size and scope he should go well here. Regent’s Stroll again looks short enough at the front of the market, as does Sixmilebridge. If the Elliott mares run well earlier in the card then Wingmen could also be involved, while Kdeux Saint Fray ran a very good race here a couple of runs ago and now looks overpriced.
14:40 (1:40am AEST) – Race 3
Wodhooh has been impressive in recent starts but the yard is in dreadful form, so she looks worth taking on until the stable turns things around. Jade De Grugy shapes as the obvious runner to oppose her with.
15:20 (2:20am AEST) – Race 4
There are questions to answer again from the Elliott pair which explains their weakness in the market. Ballyburn has been well found but still has something to prove, while Kabral Du Mathan must show he truly wants the three miles around here. With the Henderson team in strong form, Impose Toi appeals as a runner who could easily be overlooked by the market.
Tip: Impose Toi @ 10/1
16:00 (3:00am AEST) – Race 5
Fact To File has taken what looks the easier route and it appears very likely he will pick up a second Ryanair Chase. Our old friend Banbridge shapes as an excellent each way play provided the ground stays as it is.
16:40 (3:40am AEST) – Race 6
This race looks absolutely wide open. Supremely West has been running consistently all season and should again run his race. Bold Endeavour looks well treated and after success earlier in the week will attract support. The runners that look interesting at prices are Kikijo, Champagne Chic and Idem, though confidence is naturally limited in such a competitive race.
17:20 (4:20am AEST) – Race 7
The final race of the day looks to revolve around the first three in the betting with a slight preference for Kim Roque, who looks ready to step up again. Jeriko will be popular given his consistent form this season, although his jumping can let him down. At a massive price however, Lord Accord is worth a small play. He may be getting older but he is now on a workable mark, ran well last time and should appreciate the faster ground.
Tip: Lord Accord @ 66/1
