Future Play – The Beauford 2300m
Intriguing edition of The Beauford over 2300m. I’m keen to side with the G1 QLD Derby winner Maison Louis. He was heavily backed last start in the G2 Rosehill Cup when starting $3.70 but looked uncomfortable on the wet track and failed to make any impression. Go back two starts and he was an eye-catcher behind Lindermann and Attrition in the G2 Hill Stakes. That’s very strong form for a race like this.
Happy to forgive the one poor run – the key to his chances is getting back on a firm deck here and rising past 2000m. He’s the horse to beat and will start much shorter than $6.00.
