Race by race overview
Race 4
(6) Woodstock was an impressive winner last start but was disqualified due to an incorrect apprentice weight. He showed good speed and did not give much else a chance, so he can do that again here and has already shown he is capable in this grade.
(5) Trade Game comes out of a strong maiden at Oakbank, where he managed to run into third. He maps for a positive run here and can improve enough to be a chance.
(3) Blazing Red showed improvement to run into the placings last start and rising slightly in distance again should suit.
(11) Mystrix looked good when resuming at Balaklava and can build on that, but needs luck from the wide barrier.
Selections:
(6) Woodstock
(5) Trade Game
(3) Blazing Red
(11) Mystrix
Suggested Bet: (6) Woodstock WIN
Race 7
(5) Phineas was solid last start when on debut for his new stable and running midfield. That was a much stronger race than this, so he should appreciate the drop in class. His Victorian form is good enough to be winning at this level and he maps for a positive run.
(6) Joviale has been running well. He looked to have found the trip too much last start, so he is suited back down in distance and can bounce back.
(1) Stokomo broke through for a win last start. He has a big weight here, so the 4kg apprentice goes on. He looks the class runner but may need luck at some stage from the wide barrier.
(2) Brave Star looks suited dropping in grade and maps positively. He is a chance in this grade, but his best may be on wetter tracks.
Selections:
(5) Phineas
(6) Joviale
(1) Stokomo
(2) Brave Star
Suggested Bet: (5) Phineas WIN
