Champion jockey James McDonald will return to Hong Kong for another short-term licence once the Australian spring carnival concludes.
The Hong Kong Jockey Club confirmed McDonald will ride under a seven-week contract from November 12 to December 23, marking his third successive end-of-year stint after the spring carnivals.
The timing ensures McDonald will complete his Sydney and Melbourne spring commitments, including Saturday’s Royal Randwick meeting where he partners Fangirl in the $1 million 7 Stakes and Joliestar in the Group 2 $1 million The Shorts.
McDonald is also set to reunite with superstar galloper Romantic Warrior in December as the Hong Kong champion bids for a fourth consecutive Hong Kong International Cup at Sha Tin.
