How The Track Played?
- Typical Rosehill on a fast track. Was advantaged to be on speed, as it should be.
- Good horses with talent could make ground wider. Fair surface and a good day of racing.
Moment Of The Day: Roselyn’s Star in the get out stakes
It was no surprise to see a bit of market support for Roselyn’s Star after Monte Supreme, who beat him last start, ran so well in the Group 3 Nivison earlier on, but the money was relentless. As the saying goes, they were jumping out of trees to back him and he was carrying the weight of the nation in the get out stakes. The O’Shea and Charlton galloper paraded beautifully and the money kept coming as the gelding moved from $2.50 to $1.90 late. The punters clearly needed the result and Lloyd and Roselyn’s Star didn’t let them down. The ride was perfect and the horse did the rest, as the punters left with pockets filled.
The punters go home cheering and @ZacLloydx goes home with four 🥇🥇🥇🥇

Tactics Questioned: Regan Bayliss – Duke of Arrakis
No team riding here, that’s for sure. Waterhouse/Bott had the favourite Farnicle, who was very well supported, along with Duke of Arrakis who was third elect. Regan Bayliss set a crazy tempo out in front, stringing the field along and basically putting Farnicle out of the race also in doing do. He set the race up for the backmarkers with the winner Ohope having the perfect run in transit and finishing over the top of the short priced favourite Farnicle who fought on gamely. The performance of Farnicle can’t be underestimated despite running second, with Duke of Arrakis tailing off last.
Talent Scout: Race 4 – #1 Beadman
No prizes for finding this horse. He could have been in multiple segments of this review. He is a star on the rise. Won on the Gold Coast in incredible fashion to end his last campaign and improved his parade from first up to second up here. Incredibly unlucky not to win this. Suggest he is good enough to be competitive in a race like the Coolmore which appears to be his target. Beiwacht may have other ideas however.
HIDDEN MOTIVE wins the Roman Consul Stakes!

The Flashing Light
R7 – Monte Supreme: This mare is airborne. She won her first three this time in and should have won here. Charged home from 10th at the 400 to run a close second. Flying!
R7 – More Territories: Another mare that seems to have found her form. Paraded much better and improved out of sight here at cricket score odds. Doesn’t have the SP anchor but there is a race in her.
R8 – Militarize: Hateful horse but this was by far and away his best run for some time. Probably needs a very wet track but this was a very promising performance from back in the field.
R9 – Airman: On the quick back up here. Was ticking over well prior, but loved his run in this. Not suited here. Wide and flushed out very deep around the turn but kept coming. Looked the winner at the 200m but rightly tired late. Nice performance from him. Not sure where they go to next though.
R9 – Willydoit: NZ Derby winner who was only here because of the $1.5M prizemoney. Needs ground but gee he seems to be ticking over well. 1600m, 2000m next couple and can win.
“They” Knew – Punters Got The Cash
The markets smashed a lot of favourites on the day, not just at Rosehill, but around the country. There were several on this card for mixed results. Suggest the punters got lucky, rather than “knew” with Gangsta Granny in the Group 3 Nivison. The mare had her birthday here, lobbing into a perfect spot from a perfect barrier and the race panned out nicely. Main dangers back in the field, the second favourite in a tricky spot and she just happened to get her head down on the line. Monte Supreme’s was a much better run, charging home from back in the field.
The punters backed the truck up again in the following race and again got the chocolates as Lindermann was ridden perfectly by Nash Rawiller. The experienced hoop did not panic after being trapped wide early, taking his time to find the front, keeping the horse in good rhythm and winning well. Lindermann was $2.70 to $2.30 late.
LINDERMANN 💜🤍

Roselyn’s Star made his way into the Moment of the Day such was the go. They definitely knew he would be finding the right run and prove too strong.
They Left It In The Bag
R4 – Beadman: $4+ into $3.50 on the back of a very good parade. Marhoona was also kept incredibly safe at even money. Beadman looked a certainty beat here, getting no luck or room at all in the straight. The colt got out late but couldn’t reel in the leader Hidden Motive. Sick.
R9 – Gringotts: Every time you looked, Gringotts got shorter. This was a big go in a $1.5M race. He was $5.50 into $3.30 in the last 10min of betting, shorting at every possible moment. When the money comes for Maher runners in grand finals, it usually pays off. Unfortunately for punters, it didn’t on this occasion as Headley Grange proved too good.
What You May Have Missed?
Bauhinia ran last in Race 7, beaten close to 10 lengths but it was one of the best lasts you will see. Berry can be kind to them when they’re not in the finish and he was here. Look for her next start at a price.
