Morphettville 21/2 Horses To Follow

Race 5 (1050m Listed 2YO)- 9 Never Ordinary

Never Ordinary made her debut in this race after an impressive set of trials in the lead up. She jumped out and raced up on speed to only be caught late on the line by the fitter and more experienced Rebel Tuesday. The pair put a big gap on 3rd place and Never Ordinary did appear to race greenly late in the straight. She should take big benefit out of this race and should be a race winner soon.

Race 7 (2600m Group 3) 9 Highland Bling

We are 2 weeks out from The Adelaide Cup now and this Lord Reim’s Stakes gave us a good look at runners who look likely to go around in The Cup. The race was taken out by Sarah Rutten’s Eventually who showed a quick turn of foot late to run over the top and win, but it is Highland Bling who ran into 2nd that I am keen to follow into the Cup. He looked the winner half way down the straight and did get caught late but was only 2nd up into this race and was really grinding to the line, he looks likely to be better suited fitter again next start and the 3200m trip looks ideal for him.

Race 8 (1200m Listed) 10 A Samurai Mind

A Samurai Mind was coming into this Listed level race off a near year long spell on the side lines. Coming in against fitter horses in a strong race looked likely to be a challenge but he showed enough to suggest he has come back in super form. Running the 4th fastest L400m of the entire meeting was encouraging for him moving forwards as I feel his best is over slightly further than this 1200m. He was a horse that was showing good talent before the spell and this performance showed enough to suggest he can get back to that better form again.
