Best Bet: Race 2 (2) Eton Affair

Next Best: Race 5 (2) Deadly Press

Turf Talk

  • The track is already rated a Heavy 9 and with showers forecast, there is every chance it could deteriorate to a Heavy 10.
  • The rail moves out to the +6m position for the entire circuit.
  • Moe is a tight circuit where runners on speed, or those settling forward of midfield, generally hold an advantage.

Stats That Matter

  • Jett Stanley is in outstanding form with 14 winners from his past 100 rides, returning a +22.8% POT. He also has a profitable record at Moe with a +8.4% POT.
  • Patrick Payne continues to produce winners through the winter months, striking at 22% from his past 100 starters with a +18.3% POT.

Race 2

(2) Eton Affair looks ready to break through after consecutive runner-up finishes this preparation, including his latest effort in similar Heavy conditions at Geelong. He has the speed to take advantage of barrier 2, should find the lead and looks the one they have to run down.

(8) Red Rabbit had little luck first-up after covering ground throughout. Her previous preparation was much stronger and a better run in transit can see her bounce back.

(1) Admire Mercury has experience at this track/distance set up as well as experience on a wet track last start. That experience in similar conditions can set him up well

(4) Narialo looks the best of the runners on debut having won two recent trials so capable of running well fresh if he can transfer that form

Selections:
(2) Eton Affair
(8) Red Rabbit
(1) Admire Mercury
(4) Narilao

Suggested Bet: (2) Eton Affair (Win)

Race 5

(2) Deadly Press was an impressive Seymour winner last start in a race that rates similarly to this assignment. There appears to be limited early speed, so from barrier 4 he should settle in a handy position and his proven wet-track credentials make him the horse to beat.

(6) Infinite Jest looks well suited back at his home track. He is the likely leader if able to cross from the wide draw and will be dangerous if allowed to dictate.

(5) Great Prosperity improved into the placings last start in comparable grade and now reaches peak fitness third-up.

(11) Almago resumes after showing her best form over further last campaign, but she has previously won first-up over this distance and gets in well at the weights.

Selections:
(2) Deadly Press
(6) Infinite Jest
(5) Great Prosperity
(11) Almago

Suggested Bet: (2) Deadly Press (Win)
