(1) Kalmana – T: R & C Jolly J: C Jones
Has been building into this prep nicely, with two placings from two starts so far and finishing within 1L of the winner in both runs. He was bold to hold on for third last start after enduring a tough run early. This race maps better for him, he may find the front quickly and could prove hard to catch in these conditions. He looks one of the better value chances in this.

(2) More Than Hope – T: Cody Reardon J: C Murtagh
A last-start winner who rises out of benchmark grade to tackle black-type company for the first time. His recent form lines around Mathematician read well and he is a runner capable of leading, which should suit here, but it will take a considerable jump in level for him to be a winning chance.
(3) No No Yes – T: M Price & M Kent Jnr J: J Holder
A winner at Newcastle two starts ago before travelling to Oakbank for a stronger race. He has the scope to improve, as he potentially did not totally appreciate the Oakbank track, and he will be fitter here today. He needs to find a level of improvement from what he produced last time to be competitive here, but that run can be forgiven.
(4) Talent Scout – T: Byron Cozamanis J: B King
Has recently been contesting races against older horses such as the Port Lincoln and Kimba Cups. He looks better suited back in his age group, but will still need to find significant improvement on recent ratings to be a genuine contender.
(5) Rohesia – T: Ben, Will & JD Hayes J: K Crowther
She has mixed her form in recent runs but broke through and found her best form last start with the blinkers applied and rising to 1400m. She brings in some of the stronger form lines in the field and sets up well jumping from barrier 3, so looks likely to get an ideal run. This setup suits her.

(6) Exit – T: C Maher J: R Milnes
Another visitor who brings in strong form lines from recent runs in Victoria. She recently chased the likes of Sheza Alibi and Sass Appeal in Group 2 company. Last start she dropped in level and produced an easy win at Flemington. If she can hold the form she produced last start, she looks tough to hold out late and is one of the leading chances in this.
(7) One More Song – T: Aaron Bain & Ned Taylor J: W Price
Deserves a crack at a race like this given she has won three of her last four starts, including an Oakbank win last start over this distance. She is in good form, but the wide barrier makes for a tricky run early and she will rely on some luck.
(8) Live – T: C W McDonald J: W Price
The market suggested she was not ready to win first up when she drifted. She is fitter now and was competitive in a Group 3 second up last prep. With improved fitness second up and jumping from barrier 2, she should be capable of improving and looks set to get a favourable run early.
(9) Yellowjacket – T: P Stokes J: J Opperman
Ran well when resuming at Caulfield to finish third, 1.3L behind Extragalactic. Based on that first-up run, she should appreciate the rise to 1400m and, with the added fitness second up, she should be one of the better chances.

(10) Tiptop Tori – T: A J Gluyas J: T Johnstone
Broke through to win at maiden level last start and takes a sharp rise in grade here. The wide barrier does her no favours in this tougher race and she looks one of the rougher chances at best.
(11) Boolcunda Dawn – T: Peter & Belinda Blanch J: T Voorham
Won an Oakbank maiden two starts ago and then backed that up with a second placing in a stronger race there again. She would need a career best to win here, but has found form and gets a favourable race map. She is capable of racing handy in the early stages.
(12) Farakta – T: R Griffiths J: T Nugent
Steps up in grade after winning at maiden level last start. She looks a runner who is likely to appreciate the rise in distance, but needs some luck in the early stages from a wide barrier. With luck and clear passage, she should be hitting the line strongly and can surprise.
