Joyous news in the Moody household will see racing’s most famous smoker give up the darts.
One of the country’s most well-known trainers, Peter Moody, revealed on his Moody On The Mic podcast that his daughter Breann is expecting their first child, making him a grandfather.
‘’Very excited to be coming … a grandfather,’’ he said.
‘’I am very excited. Brad and Bre announced during the week and we’re going to have a big spring team. We’re going to have a big spring, not only on the racetrack in the breeding shed as well.
‘’So looking forward to he or she joining the team later in the year.’’
In delivering the good news to the family, Moody said he was also given an ultimatum – give up the smokes.
A prolific smoker at times, Moody is known to smoke in the mounting yard as he watches his horses run and has even been known to light up on camera as he records his podcast.
‘’There is going to have to be a bit of a shock, too, in the team, because my daughter has told me in no uncertain terms that ‘you are off the bangers’.’

Moody’s daughter is now better known as Breann Harrington, a star of Carlton’s AFLW side.
She has had significant success as a player, scoring All-Australian honours in 2021 and won the club best and fairest in 2018.
Carlton announced the baby news on Saturday.
“We’re incredibly grateful for the support we’ve received as we prepare to welcome our first child together,” Harrington said.
“While this year will look different for us and it’ll be sad not running out with my teammates week in, week out, I’m excited to support the group in a different capacity this year.
“Brad and I are really excited for this new chapter in our lives and can’t wait to welcome a new Blues supporter.”
