There has been disappointment from many the Sheza Alibi-Autumn Glow clash will not happen in next month’s Doncaster, but not from Peter Moody.
He welcomed the decision for the unbeaten Autumn Glow to stick to weight-for-age in the Queen Elizabeth Stakes, rather than give his filly 7-1/2 kilos in the Doncaster.
“I’m not disappointed that Autumn Glow is not going to be there,” Moody said. “It’s a great decision.”
“Anyone who watched the races on Saturday knows what the result would be. She [Autumn Glow] is awesome.”
“You couldn’t be confident having to race her anywhere. It’s better she’s not there.”

The Doncaster is one of the races Moody wants to get on his resume, and he said the preparation for Sheza Alibi since the Randwick Guineas had been seamless for the $2 Doncaster favourite.
“She had a good hit out the other morning with Jamie [Melham] on her, and she will have a gallop on Tuesday before coming up here,” Moody said at the Inglis Easter Sale.
“She is my best chance to win a Doncaster.”
“It might not be her last run of the prep, we could back-up in the Queen Of The Turf, but we wouldn’t be going anywhere near the Queen Elizabeth.”
