Bet Legends’ Shaun Beirne has Anemacore and Scripted in his sights on Saturday, believing both are shorter in the market than their ratings and race setups warrant.

This Saturday, his attention turns to Eagle Farm and Randwick, where Anemacore and Scripted are firmly in his sights.

Eagle Farm Race 9 – Anemacore
Anemacore has plenty of ability, but Beirne believes the likely race shape makes him a difficult proposition at his current price.
The map is the first concern.
“He maps to be last on the fence – a tricky spot,” Beirne said.
That position would be less problematic if Beirne expected a strongly run race, but he doubts Anemacore will get the tempo required to bring his best asset into play.
“He needs the pace on and I don’t think he gets that here.”
The other issue is simply price.
Beirne’s ratings suggest Anemacore should be trading closer to $4 (currently $2.40), leaving him happy to oppose the gelding at anything significantly shorter.
There is also an interesting statistic around Anemacore’s winning profile. His average winning margin when successful is 1.5 lengths, which gives those keen to back him an opportunity through the Bet Legends special.
This also creates a head-to-head between Shaun and Betsy’s Queensland guru, with Amenacore one of Gibbo’s best.

Randwick Race 9 – Scripted
Beirne is also prepared to take on Scripted at Randwick, with the market again considerably more bullish than his ratings.
The trials haven’t convinced him.
“Her trials have only been fair,” Beirne said.
More importantly, Beirne believes there is a significant gap between what Scripted has produced on the ratings and what the market is currently asking punters to accept.
“The ratings she has put up don’t match up with her current quote. She needs to find another three lengths.”
Beirne also expects Scripted to get back in the field, potentially leaving her with plenty to do when the race gets serious.
It all adds up to another favourite Bet Legends is prepared to oppose.
