Racing NSW and Sky Racing have unveiled a new look channel with fresh content, in a move they say is a ‘’ commitment to inform and educate punters’’.
The Everest will initially focus heavily in the new programming offerings, as well as star jockey James McDonald.
According to a release on Friday, Sky Central will broadcast six new programs, with talent including champion jockey McDonald, broadcaster Emma Freedman as well as tipsters Brad Gray and Nick Berney as part of a major investment in racing coverage.
Racing NSW and Sky Racing say the new programming is ‘’built around expert form analysis, behind-the-scenes access and telling the stories of the people who put on the show’’.
‘’The channel will form part of a broader strategy to produce more racing content and make it more readily available for broader audiences,’’ Racing NSW Acting Chief Executive Graeme Hinton said.
“Sky Thoroughbred Central provides the industry with an opportunity to consistently inform and educate punters and engage them more with our participants.
“Racing has so many stories to tell and this channel forms part of a broader strategy to tell them more often and to more people.”
Everest Carnival HQ is one new offering, set to be hosted by Greg Radley, alongside Berney and presenter Ally Mosley, and will launch on September 22.
Julie Snook and Gray will host First Up: Everest Carnival each Saturday morning at 10am, delivering the latest news, insights and form ahead of the day’s racing and will be simulcast on News24 and Fox Sports News.
The expanded schedule will also feature a new line up of vodcast programs, that will include Out the Gate featuring Richard Callander and McDonald, Finding Winners with Emma Freedman and Ally Mosley, It’s Gold hosted by Julie Snook and Crossing the Line with Dave Stanley.
The release said ‘’a renewed focus on quality control and providing consistent and accurate information for punters will be rolled out’’.
More changes are expected after the Everest Carnival ‘’as part of the ongoing evolution of Sky Thoroughbred Central’’.
