Yes, there’s a big Saturday meeting between now and Sunday’s Seymour offering, but get in early and snag overs about a couple of runners that should shorten up closer to the jump.
Race 3 – Weekend Lover ($5.50)
This gelding was clearly the run of the race first up at Wangaratta and with even luck he would’ve gone close to winning. He had trialled well prior and meets a very moderate field on Sunday. Granted he’s had plenty of chances to break his maiden but this looks an ideal race and I can see him starting shorter than the current quote.
Race 4 – Immortal Triumph ($16)
A 2YO I Am Immortal colt who has shown speed and talent at the jump-outs. Strikes a strong race on debut but I think he can press forward for apprentice Sarah Field and give a great sight. Blethyn and Welcometotheshow both look hard to beat but I can have something EW on Immortal Triumph at $16.
Race 5 – Campari Twist ($6)
Matt Laurie has had a great season and he can post another winner here with Campari Twist. This gelding has trialled well since a first-up failure and I think he can quickly bounce back to something like his best, which would see him start far shorter than $6.
Race 8 – Jaz Tycoon ($51)
Simply can’t believe this gelding is $51! He has absolutely no luck last time out off a seven-week break and frankly has had excuses in a few recent outings. Can settle more forward back out to the mile from a good gate and this is his pet trip. The $51 looks huge overs.
Summary
- Race 2: Weekend Lover ($5.50)
- Race 4: Immortal Triumph EW ($16)
- Race 5: Campari Twist ($6)
- Race 8 : Jaz Tycoon ($51)
