Race 2: (MDN 1200m)
Tempo: Above Average
Impressive trials from (6) LUMBRIDGE CASTLE an Ardrossan gelding with Wexford stables. Two trial wins, smooth mover and has something to chase and run down in (11) GIN AND BARE IT who is pure speed, last 100m will again test as it did at Matamata on debut when short-stepping late. Betting stable, watch for any moves against the debutant.
Suggested Bet: LUMBRIDGE CASTLE
Race 3: (3YO SW+P 1100m)
Tempo Average
Potential for the race to be run at good speed if (2) ARMAGH tries to cross from a wide gate as expected, blinkers on improved his performance winning at Ellerslie last start. Speed filly and likely leader (7) MISS MOET ALL draws best on the fence with rail back in true positon, coming back in distance to 1100m is ideal, whether she has the class to win, happy to spec at the odds as a Top 3 chance. (6) LUBECK has map favours either landing outside leader or taking the trail one out, one back. A while between wins, she won’t find a better opportunity.
Suggested Bets: MISS MOET ALL (Value)
Race 5: (OPEN 1400m)
Tempo: Average
He’s not at same level as some of his competitors in this race but there is a compelling case for veteran galloper (8) BUTTERFIELD stepping up to open class at the weights and off the speed map with apprentice Sienna Brown claiming all of her 4kg allowance. Recent form patchy, he is a two-time course & distance winner jumping from a low gate with the lead speed up for grabs. If the apprentice can get him out rolling early at a good clip he’s in this race a long way. If they go slow, (2) LITTLE BIT OF LOVE has the best turn of foot and can round them up down the outside.
Suggested Bets: LITTLE BIT OF LOVE & BUTTERFIELD (Roughie)
Race 7: (R65 1200m)
Tempo: Above Average
Progressive filly (9) TOPSY TURVY is well-placed to continue on her winning ways after a high rating maiden win this course & distance first-up. She presented with improvement to come and showed excellent gate speed to enjoy run of the race leaders back off the inside for a soft win running away. Different dynamic this time, however, Craig Grylls can drive her forward and with an even luck from the wide draw clear horse to beat.
Suggested Bet: TOPSY TURVY (Best)
