Dean Watling’s best bet at Canterbury: Race 3 No.5 Mareth
Cracking contest, clearly the race of the night. Excited to see what Michael Freedman can do with this talented filly (5) Mareth, she has looked a completely new horse under his guidance with back-to-back impressive trials. She gets the cherry drawing gate 3. (3) Crimson Wings maps smartly also, loved the action of this filly in her most recent trial when letting down stylishly. (7) Performance should jump and look to take up the running from barrier 1. The well-bred grey filly has been running slick time at the trials and has been well backed in early markets. (8) Raskol will need a touch of luck from the draw but also possesses winning talent.
Mitch Lewis’ best bet at Cranbourne: Race 8 No.1 Leg Drive
LEG DRIVE has found good form with a win two starts back and a close 2nd last time out. He looks to get ideal track conditions here today with a drying track and given the moderate tempo expected in the race, it could set him up well to be hard to reel in at the late stages of the race
