Race 7 – 3:45PM Lamaro’s Hotel Geoffrey Bellmaine Stakes (1200 METRES)
They don’t trial much better than #11 BOSSY BENITA. She has had three solid hit-outs leading into this first-up run, and her latest effort when putting a hole in Midwest at Sandown was simply outstanding. She has been trailing in the blindfold which she sports today.
There doesn’t look a lot of speed in this race which could see the wide draw a positive for this mare. She will have the wind at her back from the 1200m chute and jockey Lachie Neindorf can cruise across and look to control the race. She’s no moral, but the $9 on offer appeals greatly – she should run a terrific race.
#7 A LITTLE DEEP has also jumped-out brilliantly, as she always does. She goes like a bomb fresh, having won four from five, with the only defeat coming when held up over the concluding stages in Sydney fresh last campaign. She’s drawn to get a lovely run in the race.
#1 WROTE TO ARATAKI seems a big price at 20/1. Class mare who has jumped-out well enough. It wouldn’t surprise to see Dean Yendall fire her out of the machines and put her on speed – she ran third in this race last year when settling in a forward position.
Suggested bet:
If spending $50 on the race:
$25 on #11 BOSSY BENITA
$20 on #7 A LITTLE DEEP
$5 on #1 WROTE TO ARATAKI
