Race 4 – 7:45PM Polytrack Maiden Plate (1000 METRES)
#9 PACIFIC CHILL has trialled in outstanding order at Cranbourne ahead of this return. She has put herself on speed with little effort and put her rivals to the sword comfortably in both jump-outs, suggesting she has come back very well. She only had the one run last campaign when down the track on a heavy deck, but that is easy to forgive and she gets back on top of the ground here. Linda Meech will ensure she is right in the firing line early. If she runs up to her trials she looks hugely over the odds at $6.50.
#8 HEADBANGER adds a tongue tie, which suggests they may have gotten on top of a little issue after she failed first-up at Pakenham. She had trialled well prior to that first outing for the Begg stable and from gate one she can ping the lids and race right on speed. She can absolutely win, but she should not be anywhere near as short as she is.
I think #7 GWEN’S GIRL is the weak point in the market. She has tactical speed, which will assist around Cranbourne, but she is too short for mine.
Suggested bet:
