Curado – Matthew Smith (Molly Bourke)
Randwick H11 745m – Sept 26
Smart overall time here running faster than Caballus in the heat prior. Second impressive front-running trial now, as well as working well through the line which we need, as this was over 745m.

Big Tiger – Waterhouse & Bott (Tim Clark)
Randwick H11 745m – Sept 26
Same heat as Curado, I’d suggest Big Tiger has gone better as this was his first trial of the prep compared to two for Curado. He showed talent last prep with some strong trials around the likes of Nazwah. Loved his work through the line here, look for a second trial over 900m+.

Margin Call – Ciaron Maher (Jason Collett)
Randwick H12 745m – Sept 26
Gelded, solid overall time and a much improved second trial here for the prep. Loved his action late when ridden off speed before working sharply through the line. Looks ready to debut over 1100–1200m.

Rewrite – Michael Freedman (Tommy Berry)
Randwick H12 745m – Sept 26
Same heat as Margin Call, didn’t have much room at all in the straight but moved well once clear. Showed good ability last prep and will improve off this first trial. Keen to see him over 900m+ before a debut.

Somerton Smart – Sue Grills (Jenny Duggan)
Tamworth H1 1000m – Sept 30
Green but a sneaky good debut trial by this 3yo gelding. All eyes were on Pallaton out in front; he has race fitness and experience though — Somerton Smart was having his first official outing. Green at the top of the straight but made up sharp ground late and through the line.
