The Trial Files have found a couple they are keen to back on Wednesday's Geelong card.

Race 1 – 3:40PM Ladbrokes Form Genius Maiden Plate (1112 METRES)

This doesn’t look an overly strong Maiden. The debutants look to have a good opportunity to kick off their career a winner.

#8 BOURDETO has jumped-out nicely on a few occasions. She is drawn out, but suspect she can roll forward and settle in the first couple. She looks well educated, which you’d expect coming from the Hayes stable. Have her marked favourite and can see her trimming up from the $5 on offer.

#1 TURQUOISE PARROT hasn’t been exposed in his two jump-outs at Flemington. He has been allowed to balance up early in his work and hasn’t been brought into clean air in either hit out. Liked how he worked through the line in his latest outing and from gate four with a good jockey up he is going to get every chance on debut.

Suggested bet:

Dutching (backing both to win the same amount) #1 TURQUOISE PARROT and #8 BOURDETO

Race 6 – 6:30PM Steampocket BM62 Handicap (1112 METRES)

Good speed. #2 MR ASSERTIVE and #4 HUGHIE look the likely leaders.

Like how #5 ZADAR SUNSET has jumped-out ahead of her return. She has had three jump-outs total, the latest a strong on-speed effort at Terang. She looked to carry a bit more weight than Aussie Pharoah who she went locked to the line with, so the performance was even better than it looked.

She’s probably better at 1200m, but returning off a decent spell 1100m with a soft run off the speed is a solid setup. Beau Mertens has had one ride on her for a win, and he’s riding in reasonable form at the moment.

Suggested bet:

$10 about #5 ZADAR SUNSET appeals. She should be shorter. Happy to back her 1×3 EW.
