Race 6 – 5:05PM THE BRIGHT & SHINY COPPER RACE F&M BENCHMARK 64 HANDICAP (1350 METRES)
Interesting Benchmark 64 over the 1350m. SATIN’S LEGACY looks the leader. GOLDEN COW could be positive up in distance and has the speed to be handy but they may elect to take a sit from the gate up in trip. Doubt LAMBETINA will be far away.
#3 MY PHAR LADY is the horse from the trials. She is a mare that hasn’t shown her best in recent campaigns, running last in her two recent runs. She clearly didn’t come up last campaign and may have lost her zest for racing but we have been taken by her two trials leading in and she could well back. She ran last in her first trial over 900m but absolutely loved what she did after the line. She again found the line well in her 1000m Hawkesbury trial. Expect her to get back from barrier 10 today but look for her to be hitting the line very strongly. She has the talent and class to win, and has run the figures early in her preparations in the past that would see her be extremely competitive today. At double figures, around the $12 mark, she looks a bet worth having. We are taking her on trust but we’ve seen enough at the trials to suggest she can produce similar figures as she did earlier in the year and that would see her be in the finish.
