Yulong star Treasurethe Moment’s 2026 will be aimed at the Cox Plate, trainer Matt Laurie confirmed.
Laurie said his star mare will have a deliberately light autumn as she gears up for a second shot at the 2026 Cox Plate, which will be run at Flemington.
The four-time Group 1 suffered a colic scare after her win in the G1 Memsie Stakes. She loomed at one stage in the 2025 Cox Plate before finishing third behind Via Sistina.
“Ultimately, I’d just love to get her into the Cox Plate at Flemington at the end of the year,” Laurie told racing.com.
“She’s had three big preps already, so we won’t overdo it this time around.”
Laurie said his mare will have a easy autumn, with just two races in mind, including the Futurity and the All-Star Mile.
“She’s earned an easier lead-in,” Laurie said.
“If we can get her right for Flemington, I think she can be even better next time around.”
