Summary of Best Bets

Best Bet: Race 5 No.6 Taxation
Value Bets: Race 1 No.4 Milele EW & No.9 Promenade EW

Race 1

(7) Coco Affair has trialled up well, rock hard fit off three trials when matching motors with Campione D’Italia.

(4) Milele is a horse at big odds I could entertain, sneaky good trials late and through the line.

Another at big odds is (9) Promenade, big strong type who responded well to the whip in his trials.

Selections:
(7) Coco Affair
(4) Milele
(9) Promenade

Suggested Bets: (4) Milele EW, (9) Promenade EW

Race 2

Tricky race with a field filled with plenty of similar types.

(2) Iron Legend goes on top, bred to skip through the going and did finish off well late last start over the 1500m. Up to 1600m now suits.

(3) Ratify was doing his best work late first-up over the 1400m in a sit-and-sprint race, tempo on slightly more here and he maps to land off rails.

The Waller-trained Frankel duo (1) Sarapo and (11) Garrix will need luck from their draws and are a worry on wet but bring strong last start figures to this event.

Selections:
(2) Iron Legend
(3) Ratify
(1) Sarapo
(11) Garrix

Suggested Bet: No Bet

Race 3

A number of scratchings here, puts (5) Just Maz right on top. Impressive winner on debut, she looks hard to hold out again.

(3) Scrumptious has impressed in her last two runs and looks to be a progressive type.

Selections:
(5) Just Maz
(3) Scrumptious

Suggested Bet: No Bet

Race 4

Wide open event.

I’ll lean the way of (3) Autumn Dream with the 3kg claim of Siena Grima, she gets the shades on second-up and maps to get enough run in transit.

(1) Spirit Of Camelot had a glorified trial fresh, up to 1400m is a big tick as is the wet track, the query is barrier 1.

(2) Vienna Vixen maps sticky but gets in light with the 3kg claim of Stanley. The wet track isn’t a worry.

(4) Rileycat maps ideally in barrier 4, the wet track is a query but the times are on her side.

Selections:
(3) Autumn Dream
(1) Spirit Of Camelot
(2) Vienna Vixen
(4) Rileycat

Suggested Bet: No Bet

Race 5

Smart 1000m contest with good speed expected up front on paper.

Keen to side with the locally trained (6) Taxation, progressive filly who rose quickly to Saturday grade second-up last prep on what was a heavy deck. She has trialled up well and maps a treat here fresh.

The Godolphin counterpart is the danger, (4) Manukau is full of fitness and should roll forward from that gate early, the wet though is a big question mark.

(8) Wootton Lass maps sticky from barrier 1 coming off a smart last start effort, strips fitter and does handle the wet well enough.

The race-fit (2) Gambler is next best, finally broke his maiden last start and can use that confidence to push on.

Selections:
(6) Taxation
(4) Manukau
(8) Wootton Lass
(2) Gambler

Suggested Bet: Taxation WIN

Race 6

I’m expecting a big run third up by (3) Gentileschi, two OK efforts this time in but gets two key changes here, rise to 2110m and a wet track. Look for her to improve sharply.

(2) Suit Of Armour gets a big tick rising in trip off two fitness building runs. Lloyd takes the ride from a positive gate.

Selections:
(3) Gentileschi
(2) Suit Of Armour

Suggested Bet: No Bet

Race 7

Not huge amounts of speed expected up front over the 1400m for a quality clash.

I’ll side with the Waterhouse & Bott-trained (9) Conchiero here. Race-fit galloper who should get a soft lead up front and also should be able to angle to the key lanes in the straight.

(2) Nana’s Wish presents first-up off a long break, the best wet tracker in the field but gives away fitness.

Not sure what to make of the trials of (10) Without Peer, impressive 3yo who returns to the races off 151 days. We will lean on the market late.

Selections:
(9) Conchiero
(2) Nana’s Wish
(10) Without Peer

Suggested Bet: No Bet

Race 8

Happy to round out the program with the progressive (10) Ready To Shine. Smart galloper who improved sharply second-up, he peaks now third-up and gets down in the weights with Lloyd aboard, the big tick is the wet track.

(3) Xpresso has been well backed in early markets, solid fresh and can only improve now third-up.

The consistent (1) Wallenda maps sticky, down in class definitely helps but needs to fire up and recapture some old form.

Selections:
(10) Ready To Shine
(3) Xpresso
(1) Wallenda

Suggested Bet: No Bet
